Supervision of Assessment: Neuropsychology


Advanced introduction to supervision in clinical neuropsychology relevant to training at all levels (from practicum through postdoctoral level). Overlap and unique issues related to supervision in this challenging and rewarding area of training and practice. Ethical, training, and diversity issues and challenges will be addressed.   

 

Objectives


  • Participants will be able to identify best practices in supervision of neuropsychological assessment. 

  • Participants will be able to compare differences between clinical, assessment, and neuropsychological supervision. 

  • Participants will be able to relate supervision in neuropsychological assessment to developmental, competency-based, and integrative approaches. 

 

About the Presenter


Michael L. Drexler, Ph.D., C.P.R.P. is a neuropsychologist in group practice and Associate Professor at Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont California, where he serves as Director of Academic and Student Affairs/Success, Chairs the Institutional Review Board, and teaches such courses as Clinical Assessment & Treatment Planning, Lifespan Development, Organizational Consultation, and Neuropsychological Approaches to Dying, Death, & Bereavement. He is Adjunct Professor at Alliant International University where he has taught Neuropsychology and Neuropsychological Assessment for many years. In addition, he is on Adjunct Faculty at the University of San Francisco where he teaches Individual & Systems Assessment, Individual & Family Psychopathology, and Research Methods, and is Volunteer Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Neurosciences at UCSF where he has taught for many years in the Interdepartmental Brain, Mind, and Behavior course series.
