Ethical Use of AI and Other HR Related Issues in Supervision

This 2-hour continuing education workshop addresses emerging ethical challenges supervisors face with artificial intelligence tools and human resources considerations in clinical training settings. Participants will explore the appropriate and inappropriate uses of AI technologies in supervision and therapy, including chatbots, documentation assistance, and clinical decision support tools, while maintaining professional standards and client confidentiality. The workshop also covers essential HR-related supervision issues such as accommodations for supervisees with disabilities, harassment prevention, and creating inclusive training environments that support diverse supervisees.

Objectives

• Describe the ethical implications of AI integration into psychological supervision and practice, including potential risks, biases, and professional responsibility

• Be able to identify how to support HR as a supervisor, including ethical implications of decision making 

About the Presenter

David Bennett, Ph.D. is a consultant and behavioral scientist with over 20 years of experience in organizational psychology, supervision, and leadership development.  His work focuses on the ethical application of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, within clinical and organizational contexts. Dr. Bennett brings a deep understanding of human behavior, systems thinking, and supervisory dynamics to help psychologists navigate evolving challenges in practice - particularly those at the intersection of ethics. technology, and leadership.
